MISS JOY MARTINS FOR OVERSEAS MEDICAL TREATMENT, STUDENT OF GOVT. GIRLS SECONDARY SCHOOL IN HARBOUR ROAD, PORT HARCOURT, LIVED IN PORT HARCOURT, IN PORT HARCOURT DIOCESE, RIVERS STATE, NIGERIA.
The incident was caused by kerosine fire explosion while she was trying to use a stove as she came back from school to prepare her lunch. The kerosine fire explosion caused her severe burns exceeding seventy percent (70%) with serious scars that have caused deformation, which has caused her to be referred abroad for plastic surgery by doctors.
On behalf of the victim's parents Mr. & Mrs. Martins Edwin, the Parish Priest Rev. Fr. Emmanuel Maru, the Daughters of Charity of Saint Vincent De Paul Society, Most Rev. Dr. Alexius Makozi the Bishop of the Diocese, wish to appeal for kind donations or a sponsor from the Catholic Societies of the Catholic members in USA or humanitarian organisations to cure the above victim to enable her go back to school and complete her studies.
The victim is a member of St. Vincent De Paul Society, the father a member of the Catholic Men organisation and Bible Union and also the committee chairman for Feast of St. Joseph the Worker 2004 in Port Harcourt Diocese and Parishioners of St. Mary's Catholic Church. Please fellow brethren in our Lord Jesus Christ, donations in part or full will be thankfully acknowledge by the Parish Priest and our Lord Bishop in the Diocese.
